All 42 Skulls

Effects, mission-by-mission locations, LASO membership, and the combos worth running

How Skulls Work

There are 39 hidden skulls - exactly 3 per mission - plus Adaptation, Reload, and Armistice, granted automatically once you collect any 3 hidden skulls (they power Campaign Remix). A whispering sound grows louder as you approach one. Collection milestones: Cranial (1), Making a Necklace (22), Headhunter (all 39). 17 specific skulls form the LASO set - marked below.

Combos Worth Running

Collectible sweep

Acrophobia + Bandana - fly anywhere with infinite ammo. The fastest way to mop up remaining skulls and terminals in beaten missions.

Achievement combo (verify in-game)

Speed Limit + Endurance Spec + Hip Fire + Armisticereportedly unlocks the "Like Old Times" achievement (single media source).

Chaos co-op night

Boom + Grunt Funeral + Cowbell + Grunt Birthday Party - everything explodes, everything flies. Best enjoyed in Campaign Remix.

Old-school purist

Speed Limit + Hip Fire - no sprint, no scopes: the closest feel to 2001 without touching the difficulty.

Q: How many skulls are in Halo: Campaign Evolved?

A: 42 total: 39 hidden skulls (3 in each of the 13 missions) plus Adaptation, Reload, and Armistice, which are granted automatically when you collect any 3 hidden skulls and unlock Campaign Remix.

Q: What do you get for collecting skulls?

A: Achievements: Cranial (first skull), Making a Necklace (22 skulls), and Headhunter (all 39 hidden skulls). Any 3 skulls unlock Campaign Remix, and finding the 17 LASO skulls unlocks the PLAY LASO option.

Q: Do skulls disable achievements?

A: Skulls themselves generally do not - Difficulty Modifier presets are what lock 11 advanced achievements. The LASO/MYTHIC run requires its 17 skulls on. Verify edge cases in-game before a long run.

Q: How do you know a skull is nearby?

A: Listen for it: a whispering/hissing sound grows louder as you get close to a hidden skull.
